The low-diesel stove is a household appliance found in even the most impoverished district, where it is used on the daily to cook food. As a non-electric appliance, it requires a nominal dose of diesel fuel to be able to function properly. Especially in the more poor, disease-ridden districts, a portion of diesel is allotted for communal use and is then distributed equally to households so as to ensure everyone's equal chance at survival. Most models have a hidden compartment towards the base of the stove where residents tend to store small, precious items that might otherwise be taken after a vigilante raid.
