Built on the foundation of Columbus Metal Industries Inc., the scrap yard is a trading post and open market for metal scrap, building materials, engine parts, and other miscellaneous hardware. Located just off a main trade and travel route, many types of people can be found browsing for wares. The scrap yard is always noisy: shouted negotiations, grinding gears and tools, and roaring engines fill the air day and night. There is a persistent smell of oil and burnt metal.

The scrap yard is not technically under the jurisdiction of Columbus itself, so it is a common target for criminal behavior. A private security force enforces the rules of the scrap yard, which are posted on a sign at the entrance.
